Artist in Residence

LAUNCH INVITATIONAL RESIDENCY
June 18th- 21st, 2018

ABOUT

Launch invitational residency is a professional service/professional development program for students in the Chicagoland area. The Coleman Entrepreneurship Center is sponsoring three students – Willie Burton, Madeline Schoonover, and Alanna Huck-Scarry to attend the program in 2018. The company empowers students to identify and pursue the next steps in their professional practice by introducing them to the tools, resources, and networks that will help them achieve their goals.

CURRICULUM

Launch’s pedagogical model focuses on practical skill-building, creative activities, collaborative brainstorming, and one-on-one consultations. At this critical point in their lives, the residency allows artists a chance to access tactical advice, devote time to strategic thinking about the future, and engage with established, rising, and innovative thinkers in the field.

Topics are informed in part by nominee applications and may include:

  • Understanding your “Why” & The Arts Ecosystem
  • Artists Business Models and Career Path Options
  • Goal Setting and Strategic Planning
  • Writing and marketing for Artists
  • Financial and Legal Literacy
  • Sustaining a creative practice and building community
  • Self-Care and Wellness Practices

APPLY

Nominated students may complete the LAUNCH application at chicagoaartists.slideroom.com by April 10, 2018.
